Remember the gorgeous girl who wooed and wowed with Akshay Kumar in the song 'Aila Re Aila' from Khatta Meetha?

She donned Dimple Kapadia's look from 'Main Maike Chali Jaaongi' and caught everybody's attention and fantasy. That was Kainaat Arora for you. Though the actress debuted in Bollywood with just an item number, there has been no looking back for her with some of the best offers coming her way. The young lass just finished shooting a song with South superstar Ajith Kumar for his 50 th film Mankatha.

Talking about the song Kainaat reveals, "The film is very special for Ajith as it's his 50 th film and I couldn't have asked for more than an exclusive dance number with the Tamil superstar."

Kainaat is highly excited about the song and is sure it will be a huge hit. She says, "The song is very much like my Hindi song Aila Re Aila and Munni Badnaam Hui. It has a bar setting set in old Mumbai and is very edgy. We shot it in Chennai and it was great fun working with Ajith and the entire Mankatha team."

Confident about impressing the Tamil audience with her latkas-jhatkas, Kainaat says, "Akshay Kumar has been lucky for me and now I did this song with Ajith Kumar. I guess 'Kumar' is my lucky charm. So I am sure this song too will get me recognition from the Tamil audience and film fraternity."

Interestingly, its not just item numbers that Kainaat can boast about. The actress is in final talks with a few big banners where she will exhibit more than just her dancing skills. "I feel fortunate that after working with Akshay in Khatta Meetha, people have noticed me and approached me with some irresistible offers. I can't divulge much right now but the projects offered are really big with A-league directors and actors and I shall spill the beans soon," says Kainaat with dreams in her eyes and 'light a zillion lamps' smile on her face.

Bin Laden in ‘Mankatha’

No serious reference to the al-Qaeda leader. But a song whose starting lines have his name has been recorded recently for ‘Mankatha’, the 50th film of Ajith directed by Venkat Prabhu.

The ‘Va da…Bin Lada…’ number composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja was crooned by Krish and Suchitra and the output was excellent, a source close to the unit tells us.

“It was a romantic number to be shot on Ajith and Trisha. The song will be one of the highlights of the film, for Yuvan has come out with rocking music with the voices of Krish and Suchitra adding to it,” the sources says.

Giving more one more update on the project, the source adds: “Most part of the shoot is over and Venkat Prabhu is gearing up to release the film on May 1, the birthday of Thala.” ‘Mankatha’ is produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies.

Praise For Ajith

The unit of Mankatha, Ajith’s golden jubilee flick directed by Venkat Prabhu, has just completed a hectic schedule in Mumbai and returned to the city.

Sources say that a segment of the story takes place in Mumbai’s Dharavi slums and Trisha portrays Sanjana, the daughter of a mafia don from Dharavi, while Ajith plays Vinayak, sporting a salt-and-pepper hairstyle like George Clooney in Ocean’s 11.

Speaking to DC, Venkat Prabhu said, “Like I said earlier, Ajith and I decided to go in for a new styling in terms of his look and it was finally sir who suggested this George Clooney look. Incidentally it goes well with the character Vinayak in the movie. I am confident that his look will click in a very big way once the movie is released.”

He clears the misconception that it is a gangster film, “Mankatha is a traditional card game played in the state by betting sums of money. Similarly, here too, it’s about different people trying to do something and how everything changes at a particular point.” Though he was tightlipped about the theme, sources say that it is about cricket betting during the IPL season.

Meanwhile, Prabhu is simultaneously editing the portions canned so far and Yuvan Shankar Raja has also started his recording work. The director was ecstatic when his producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri was all praise for him after watching the rough cuts of Mankatha. “He is a great fan of Ajith. Soon after watching the clippings, he got so excited that he hugged me and remarked ‘Thala Thala Than’.”

Surprise came knocking on Vasuki’s door with an offer to work with Director Bala; this is the first time the director has hired a costume director to work for in his upcoming film ‘Avan Ivan’ starring Arya and Vishal. Director Bala who usually designs and conceptualizes his characters’ looks, this time, although he already had a concept for the costumes, he seems to have sat with Vasuki and together they kept getting the looks better and more appropriate for the characters. Our hero Ajith plays Vinayak. The director and hero were looking for a new look for the protagonist, trying out many styles and finally it seems Ajith suggested a new look, which was the casual salt and pepper hairstyle he usually sports. The director immediately seems to have liked the look and immediately gave it his thumbs up!

Now the fans will see their “Thala” sporting this salt and pepper hairstyle throughout the film. Venkat has also opined that this hairdo goes well with the character that Ajith portrays. Mankatha Tentative Release Date

Following a perfect strategy of shooting schedule, Venkat Prabhu has managed to wrap up ‘Mankatha’ on time. The final schedule was held in Mumbai nearly for three weeks with the scenes involving big star-casts being shot there. Venkat Prabhu, Ajith Kumar, Arjun and others flew back to Chennai before three days.

The audio launch that was supposed to happen on May 1, for the occasion of Ajith Kumar’s birthday is likely to get postponed while the theatrical release for the moment is confirmed on May 27.

For the first time, Ajith Kumar plays a full-fledged negative character and it’s almost like a cat-n-mouse game between him and a cop (played by Action King Arjun).

film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Says a spokesperson of Sony Music: " Yuvan's Mankatha music is peppy.
There are about nine songs including a lot of bits. The Yuvan-Venkat
Prabhu combination has always produced very good music. We are sure
Mankatha will be another chartbuster. "

Ajith’s Billa movie with Director Vishnuvardhan turned out to be one of the Biggest Box office Hits in 2007.  Billa proved to be a landmark movie in Tamil cinema for its stylish looks and action sequences. Ajith later went on to act in Aegan and Asal while Vishnuvardhan directed Sarvam.

Now the latest news is that Director Vishnuvardhan is all set to partner again with Ajith Billa 2. Sources confirm that Vishnu is ready with the script and is waiting for confirmation of dates from Ajith. It is confirmed that the shooting of Billa 2 will commence from early 2011. Whether Ajith will start Billa 2 after his next with Venkat Prabhu is still not known.
